Opening of building and blessing of lifeboat

Saturday 24th June 2017 was a perfect day - weather was kind and everything went smoothly. The building was opened by Lord Lieutenant John Ross CBE. Mr Tony Wood MBE also enlightened the public and guests about the history of Pirsac. Mr Stewart Bryden spoke on behalf of HM Coastguard. Reverend Joyce Harvey gave the blessing and Mr Shaun Dodds acted as Master of Ceremonies. Along with George McKenzie and Helen Oxley (directors of Pirsac), the ceremony preceded the launch of the lifeboat upon which guests were invited into The View for refreshments and buffet. Thanks also to Dumfries and Galloway Council partly funding the civic reception.
